Why don’t hair restoration companies promote SMP?

Ad-because its a solution-fb

SMP (Scalp Micropigmentation) is the only hair treatment/procedure with 100% guaranteed results and that is a once-off lifetime solution to thinning hair or baldness.

It is unlike hair transplants that can leave the client worse off with major scarring, or laser treatments and plasma therapy which supposedly stimulate re-growth, but have no proof or guarantees whatsoever that they are 100% effective.

Once a hair cell has died it can not be revived from the dead! No amount of expensive lotions on the market will coax it back from the grave, but hair treatment companies will keep selling and recommending their treatments to keep making money off their desperate victims. They don’t want a permanent solution such as SMP, because their repeat clientele will disappear. They are only interested in the repeat customer money-making-racket.

Why hair companies promote hair transplants

Hair transplants are much more time consuming and complicated – and therefore more costly and lucrative for them.

On average it will cost you from R30 000 to hundreds of thousands, depending on the extent of your hair loss and how many sessions you need. The cost is also affected by the type of hair transplant you choose (FUE or FUT), as well as the colour, texture, amount and availability of donor hair required for your transplant.

SMP is is a simple procedure, less invasive and much less time consuming – and therefore less lucrative for hair transplant companies.

It costs much less, ranging between R8 000 and R35 000, depending on the area of scalp that needs to be done.

See below an example of a failed hair transplant scar, and after the scar was treated with SMP:

Why hair companies promote hair ‘regrowth’ treatments

Men spend billions of dollars annually to fight baldness. It is a lucrative industry. So called hair regrowth treatments, lotions and potions are much more lucrative for companies because they are ‘patented’ and therefore more expensive. They also require multiple treatments and sessions – driving up the costs.

Do Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections work for Hair Loss?

The short answer is that science is not 100% conclusive that PRP can help regrow your hair or preserve the hair that you have.

Potential PRP hair treatment side effects

PRP has possible side effects from injections and from the procedure itself, including:

  • blood vessel injuries on the scalp.
  • nerve injuries.
  • infections around the injection site.
  • calcification or scar tissue from injections.
  • side effects from anesthesia used during the procedure, such as muscle aches, confusion, or bladder control issues.

Are PRP hair treatments a permanent solution?

If you do opt for PRP treatments it will take you a quite a few visits to possibly see initial results. And if the results do start to appear, you’ll still need to get touch-ups at least once a year to maintain new hair regrowth.

From this you can see that PHP is a costly exercise with no guaranteed results and possible unsightly injuries and painful side effects to your health.

Do hair ‘regrowth’ branded lotions work?

The simple answer is no. If you are balding, it means that the hair follicle cells are dying. Dead cells can not be revived.

These products, apart from being ineffective, are toxic and also have nasty side-effects.

The long list of side effects caused by lotions on the market can include:

  • Impotence
  • Loss of interest in sex
  • Inability to have an orgasm
  • Abnormal ejaculation
  • Swelling or tenderness in your breasts
  • Abnormal growth of body hair
  • Swollen hands or feet
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness
  • Weakness
  • Headaches
  • Skin rashes, irritation or excema
  • Allergic contact dermatitis
  • Application site tenderness and redness
  • Burning
  • Respiratory infections
  • Tendinitis
  • Back pain
  • Fractures
  • Runny nose or sinusitis
  • Fluid retention (edema)
  • Anxiety
  • Worsening of hair loss!

Here is an example of scarring due to failed hair transplant and PRP procedures:

It would be worth your while to consider not only the effectiveness of these products, but also the damage they can cause to your pocket, your scalp and your health. In the long run they can cause a lot of expense in damage control.

Scalp Micropigmentation treatments are hassle free and a good investment

We recommend that you consider SMP (Scalp Micropigmentation). It is the only hair treatment / procedure with a 100% guaranteed results, and that gives you a once off lifetime solution to baldness and thinning hair. It has no side effects and is also relatively inexpensive! (If you are still not convinced, see testimonials from our happy clents HERE).

Beware of companies who do not specialize in SMP

Hair restoration companies or tattoo parlors who offer a variety of products are usually not specialized in SMP, and therefore also have much less experience and are not dedicated.
